LegalEase Solutions LLC, which provides customized legal solutions for corporations, in-house legal departments and law firms, is proud to announce the first members of its new Board of Advisors. They bring perspectives from different industries, positions and geographical areas, and will advise LegalEase as it continues to innovate and deliver forward-thinking legal products and services to its clients.

The First LegalEase Board of Advisors Members are:

Maimoona Badsha; Principal Attorney; BadshaLegal — Based in Chennai, India, Badsha is the founder and principal attorney at BadshaLegal, and has practiced law for nearly 30 years. She is currently legal counsel for Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. & Group companies. In that role, Badsha is the chief legal advisor to the company’s executives and responsible for managing litigation and compliance across all of Apollo’s holdings, including Apollo Hospitals, India’s largest private healthcare provider; Apollo Pharmacy, the largest network of pharmacies in India; Apollo Research & Innovations, India’s largest network of clinical trial sites; Sapien Biosciences, India’s first commercial tissue biobank; and several other divisions. She is also standing counsel for Central University Tamil Nadu and an empanelled lawyer for ICICI Bank Ltd. Earlier in her career, Badsha was the Director of India Operations at LegalEase.  


Kristin L. Burnett; Managing Director, Compliance; Protego Trust Bank, N.A. — Burnett oversees regulatory compliance at Protego Trust Bank, N.A., which is among the select few American banks to receive a charter from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to custody digital assets. She has spent nearly 30 years advising a variety of financial services companies and professionals on compliance, including broker-dealers, investment advisers, private equity funds, hedge funds, investment company funds, trust banks and consulting firms. Earlier in her career, Burnett was with Russell Investments for 20 years. Her roles included Director, U.S. Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer for U.S. broker-dealers and investment advisors. Burnett also held compliance roles at SAFECO Investment Services, Inc., Talbot Financial Services and National Securities Corporation


Patrick J. Hatfield; Partner; Locke Lord LLP, Austin, TX — For more than 25 years, Patrick Hatfield has focused on the intersection of intellectual property, the business of insurance and technology. While in-house counsel for a global IT provider, he handled the acquisition of other IT companies from around the world. Hatfield also helped develop IT solutions for the company’s global roster of insurance firm clients. Since entering private practice in 2001, Hatfield has remained focused on helping companies negotiate favorable IT and outsourcing relationships, most of which have been in the financial services sector. He also represents some solution providers in that space. Hatfield’s specialties include outsourcing, e-signatures, e-payments (payment cards and ACH payments), e-delivery, general e-contracting, insurance and technology, BPO, ITO, LPO, software licensing, software development SaaS, hosting agreements, predictive modeling studies (with FCRA, HIPAA and GLBA regulated data), cyber risks, data security and data break response.


George Miller; Former General Counsel; Novartis — Miller has spent more than 35 years serving as legal counsel to multinational corporations. In his previous role at West Pharmaceuticals he oversaw legal; intellectual property; risk management; compliance; regulatory; corporate responsibility and sustainability; and government relations. Miller is particularly known for introducing, developing and implementing initiatives within corporate law departments to improve quality and reduce costs, including training and talent development, electronic billing, contract management, document management and knowledge management. From nearly 20 years of working and living outside of the United States, Miller possesses exceptional international business knowledge and experience. He is an unparalleled cross-cultural translator of complex legal and business issues.
